Print Information

The Canvas:

After hours of countless researching we have found the best possible canvas to have Kurt Langer's images printed onto.
It is a 350 g/m2 artist canvas (polyester/cotton blended) with a 2:1 weave structure of very high quality. The structure of this fabric is very pronounced and decorative. The lightly glossy ink jet coating is scratch- and water-resistant. It produces great colour brilliance and high contour definition. It is very robust and difficult to damage.
This really makes Langer's pictures look like fine detail oil paintings.

The Printer:

We use the Canon iPF8300 printer. Its built for high quality imaging and exceptional performance.

The Ink:

The inks used in printers is either dye-based or pigment-based. We use Canons Lucia pigment inks to combine the glossiness of dye ink with the vivid colours and water resistance of pigment ink.
We use high quality Lucia 12 colour Pigmented Ink systems.
There is more polymer coating for the photo inks which leads to increased print longevity.

Rolled:

Ready for you to take to your favourite framers to stretch ready to hang (or and framed). Or to be vacum mounted to MDF board to be framed at your favourite local framers.

The stretching and stretcher bar.
We have sourced the best stretchers to professionally stretch your print onto 40mm quality New Zealand kiln dried pine wood S-Bar frames. Sourced from local plantation forests. The largest canvas have cross bars for extra strength.
It comes already to hang on your wall without you having to do anything. We even included a heavy duty hook and nails to make it all so easy for you.
Your chosen image will be displayed in full on the canvas surface with a clean white border on the sides. If you are planning to frame the image you may like to inform us to stretch on a 20mm wooden stretcher bars. This will make it easy to fit any frame around the canvas from your local framers.

Print sizes:

We want Kurt Langers canvases to take centre stage on your walls. Hence only large sizes available. You will see not much difference in cost of sizes that we offer. Its not really just the printing that costs but all the effort and expense on taking the great picture you wish to obtain, and the time to assure you to having it.

Once order is placed Kurt's signature 'Langer' is digitally added to the picture like a painter artist would. It looks like its done from a paint brush. Kurt will email you a digital sample. At that stage you can choose to have the signature or not added to the actual picture. Kurt also personally adds his signature in pencil on the back of the canvas inluding the limited edtion number, year the picture was taken and the date the picture was released.

Certificate of Authenticity:

Each print comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity. Its your proof that this is a genuine Kurt Langer image. We also include the title, number of the edition, year the picture was taken, the date of release, the canvas and ink material used and size.

Limited Edition:

99% of Kurt Langer's images are in editions of only 7. This includes all sizes and print styles that maybe printed of an image. So once the edition has been meet, no more of any size or print style will be printed. The number of the limited edition of that print will be noted on the back of the picture and in the certificate of authenticity.

Kurt Langer reserves the right to use the images sold as limited edition prints in publications (such as books, magazines, calendars and online), and to make 'artist prints' available to public institutions outside the limited edition. This approach is in keeping with the aim of limited edition prints - to make your work more valuable in the future.

Once the last print in an edition has sold. It will remain on Kurt Langers website with a 'Sold Out' label. When we are approached by prospective buyers, we will contact interested print owners and act as a broker if they wish to re-sell their limited edition print.

Unlike wine, shares or other investments, Kurt Langers prints can be enjoyed while they mature allowing you to decorate your walls while the value increases.

Each time a print is sold in any one edition, the purchase price increases ensuring that your investment increases in value.
